Happy Garden: Yum Cha

We seleted four items,

Salt and Pepper Squid Tentacles - this came out first. It was very tasty and tender. A nice start to our meal

Pork and Shark Fin Dumplings - very nice texture and flavours. We have had these before.

Fresh Scallop Dumplings - my favourite. I love the scallop flavour.

Crab Meat Dumplings - my least flavour. It was mostly vegetables in a crab meat sauce

I had a glass of Riesling to wash it down and left  a very sated and happy woman. Hubby was very full and happy also.

It rained soon after we left but it was only a sun shower and quite light.

Since moving to Cleveland, QLD (Brisbane's SouthEast) I have rarely ordered food to be home delivered. Tonight we were due to make Gluten-Free Seafood Pizza but unfortunately the base was past its prime. Thus, we were trying to decide what to have for dinner. 

I didn't feel like having leftover spaghetti bolognaise a second night in a row so decided to google restaurants in Cleveland QLD that offers home delivery.

The only Cleveland QLD-based home delivery place listed on Menu Log was Sitar Express Restaurants - Alexandra Hills. Not one to give up, I decided to do a search for all restaurants in the area and ring around and find out if any had home delivery. The first restaurant I phoned was Happy Gardens Chinese Restaurant 

I talked to someone from this family-run restaurant and YES they deliver - for a $6 fee. Even better, they have a website with their menus for takeaway (deliver) and dine-in.

What I ordered:

Calamari with Spicy Salt (entree). I asked the person taking my order what their favourite menu item was and now it is mine as well! Tender calamari in a really nice batter and spicy salt. I had left them in the container so they sweated a little but they were still delicious.

Seafood Supreme (prawns, scallops, squid, fish, etc. and vegetables). Sauce was described as a light oyster sauce. I asked for some ginger and garlic - for their flu fighting properties and because I adore ginger and garlic.

Duck with mushrooms (and mixed vegetables). Delicious morsels of duck with mushrooms and mixed vegetables. The duck sauce swimming in the bottom was divine. This will definitely be ordered again.

My husband and I really enjoyed eating a little of everything until we were full. There is a lot leftover, about half. Everything was fresh and delivery took just under thirty minutes. Serving sizes were generous and it was nice to explore the menu of a new restaurant.
