Restaurant Review: Taste of China, Cairns

During a holiday in Cairns, Northern Queensland some friends and I were walking along and spotted the sign for 'Taste of China' and our quest for somewhere interesting to eat was finally settled.

With great excitement I stepped inside.
We were greeted warmly by the owner and escorted to sit at our table for three.

Steamed Dim Sims - a favourite entree

The oysters were HUGE! Here's a side-by-side shot for comparison

The more I explored the restaurant the more enamoured I was. This mural really caught my attention.

There was also a tank with mud crabs

And another with lobsters. GIANT lobsters!

My friend and I decided that we would buy a lobster and have it cooked
in 'special sauce' and share it rather than get separate main meals.
When the lobster tails came out we were amazed it came from the one lobster!

And of course we had a course of Asian greens with oyster sauce. Yumm!

They also had fish and abalone. Next time!

I just had to get a photo with the screen. I'd love to buy one.

More photos of Chinese decor for a special friend of mine.
