Heritage seeds: mini red skin baby eggplant

Heritage Seeds - Mini Red Skin Baby Eggplant

baby eggplants
Purchased from ebay seller Eerene who is located in Alexandra Hills, QLD only 6 km from me.
She has a range of heirloom and ancient seeds that have me very excited about planting out my new raised garden purchased from oo.com.au

* * MINI RED SKIN * * BABY eggplant

Easy to grow, perfect for BEGINNER GARDENERS, STUNNING in full fruit GOURMET grade variety

It is though unlikely to be found even in boutique green grocers for it hasn't got the thick tough skin necessary for commercial handling...

Scientific studies have shown that baby vegetables tend to contain higher level of nutrients (hence health benefits) than the regular-sized ones.

This unique eye-catching baby eggplant is truly a GREAT VALUE :

Densely covered with 3-5 cm long, cacao-bean or oval shaped fruit, once it reaches maturity (quicker than regular -sized varieties) it just keeps producing literally hundreds of delicious bite-sized eggplants!-

GREEN , YELLOW , ORANGE and RED – all on one bush, in different stages of ripening. The flesh is very TENDER, firm and SILKY smooth. SWEETER than a regular eggplant .

The skin stays bright red even when cooked, making this variety ideal for

SURPRISING YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY WITH EXOTIC DELICIOUS ANTI PASTA dishes."

Everything in this almost "fairy-tale" plant is unusual and beautiful :

The big pods are deep , rich royal violet and become emerald when cooked .

The FLOWERS . . . ah . . . They truly look like tiny magenta-lilac orchids !

" TASTY BEAUTY " !

Royal Orchid is a WILD grade variety :

one of those happy few examples of varieties that went through cenuries without being human - modified in any way !

GREAT VALUE

Royal Orchid is a premium grade STRINGLESS variety .
NO MORE PEELING !

Very early harvest – start picking pods only 75 days after sowing in good weather .

HIGHLY prolific , and cropping continues over a VERY extended season .

This variety is notorious for it's hoding on plant and storage benefits :

On the bush , pods can be grown up to 20 cm long and even the largest ones remain tender and flavorful .

Freezes perfectly , great for pickling , drying and and canning .

Heritage seeds and an itchy green thumb

Since moving to QLD and renting our house my husband and I have developed itchy green fingers. I purchased a raised garden bed and in the next few days we will travel out to Mount Cotton for some mushroom compost and some soil. We have already planted some seeds and seedlings but my latest interest is heirloom / rare seeds.

My latest purchase of heritage seeds has me excited by its description:
